Qatar Organizes Exhibition to Mark World Autism Awareness Day

On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, along with the delegations of Bangladesh, the State of Kuwait, India and South Korea, organized an autism awareness exhibition today at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.


Qatar Stresses Commitment to Promoting Responsibility to Protect Regionally and Internationally

The State of Qatar in partnership with Italy, chaired Saturday the first meeting of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) members. H.E. Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to UN Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani stressed today in her speech that The State of Qatar took steps regionally and internationally to enhance Responsibility to Protect.




Qatar Inform UN Security Council of UAE Boat's Kidnapping of A Qatari Fishing Boat

The State of Qatar informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General that Qatari marine surveillance saw on Friday January 19 of 2018 an UAE naval ship unload a boat into the Qatari economic zone. The boat then obstructed and kidnapped a Qatari fishing boat that had seven fishermen and a captain aboard them, all of whom were Indian nationals. The fishermen were forced at gunpoint to enter the UAE economic zone.




Summary of Discussions on Doha Regional Dialogue on Sustaining Peace

On 18 -19 January 2018, in Doha, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, under the auspices of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, President of the 72nd Session of the General Assembly, convened a regional dialogue for the purpose of encouraging fresh reflection on what sustaining peace means at the regional level.
