HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani met with HE President-elect of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Dr. Khalilur Rahman.

The State of Qatar, in a statement on behalf of the Arab Group at the United Nations, renewed its firm position in support of the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, rejecting external interference in its internal affairs and any attempt to undermine its security and stability. It affirmed that Syria's unity and stability constitute a pillar of regional security and stability.

The Group of Arab States at the United Nations condemned the Israeli occupation's illegal settlement expansion policies across the occupied Palestinian territories, and rejected the the E1 settlement plan and related settlement activities in the occupied East Jerusalem (Al-Quds).

The State of Qatar stressed the importance of protecting food security and strengthening the resilience of countries vulnerable to food insecurity.

The State of Qatar has addressed two identical letters to His Excellency Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and His Excellency Mr. Zénon Mukongo Ngay, Permanent Representative of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of July, regarding developments related to the Iranian attack on its territory. The attack constitutes a flagrant violation of Qatar's national sovereignty, a direct infringement on its security and territorial integrity, and an unacceptable escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.

HE Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres offered his condolences to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the passing of HH the Late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

The State of Qatar reaffirmed its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of its perpetrators or motives, describing it as a serious threat to international peace and security, sustainable development, human rights, and the rule of law.

The State of Qatar has affirmed its aspiration to host the High-Level Midterm Review Meeting of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA MTR) in March 2027, as a positive step to enhance cooperation with the least developed countries and support their efforts in addressing challenges.

The State of Qatar expressed deep concern over the findings of the United Nations Secretary-General's report on children and armed conflict, which indicated that violations committed against children in conflict zones have reached unprecedented levels, including killing and maiming, attacks on schools and hospitals, and the denial of humanitarian access.

The State of Qatar reaffirmed the importance of enhancing women's participation in peace and security efforts, stressing that women are a fundamental pillar in achieving sustainable peace and building more stable and prosperous societies.
