The State of Qatar stressed that tangible progress in establishing peace and security requires serious cooperation and commitment in light of the increasing conflicts and crises that threaten international peace and security, calling for intensified efforts to prevent and resolve conflicts and crises and abide by international law through the implementation of international conventions on disarmament and proliferation of weapons, including those related to nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.

The State of Qatar has stressed that the Global Program for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration being carried out by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with the support of the State of Qatar, contributes to strengthening judicial integrity, preventing corruption in the judicial system, promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners into society and spreading a culture of respect for the law among children and youth through education and sports.

The State of Qatar emphasized that comprehensive and sustainable development is an important priority and that Qatar National Vision 2030 has set the country's main economic, social, human and environmental goals.

The State of Qatar affirmed that universal jurisdiction is a rule of law mechanism to ensure fair justice, combat impunity for serious crimes, and prevent violations of international law, international humanitarian law and human rights.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani attended today the signing of an agreement between Qatar Fund For Development and the Office of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict to open and finance a center for children and armed conflict in Doha, on the sidelines of the meetings of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Upon the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani, and in accordance with His Highness' speech before the UN General Assembly at its 73rd session, the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support the water and sanitation sector in Yemen, in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
