New York, June 06 (QNA) - The State of Qatar reaffirmed its readiness to work with the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and international bodies to resolve the Gulf crisis through unconditional dialogue, respect for the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, and non-interference in its internal affairs, expressing its full support for the efforts of HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to resolve the crisis. This came in a statement made by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani at the virtual dialogue session organized by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington in cooperation with the Stimson Center for research and studies on "Qatar's perspective of global and regional security in an age of uncertainty."

New York, May 28 (QNA) - The State of Qatar reiterated that the unjust blockade imposed against it threatens the security and stability of the region, violates international law and contradicts the orientations of the international community, stressing that this blockade is imposed under false pretexts without regard for the dire consequences for the security and stability of the region. This came in a statement delivered by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani during a virtual meeting held by the UN Security Council on the 'Protection of civilians in armed conflict'.

New York, May 23 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has stressed that cyber-attacks threaten security, peace and stability, coinciding with the third anniversary of the e-piracy crime that targeted the Qatar News Agency on May 23, 2017, which was committed a few days before the imposition of the unjust and unlawful blockade against the State of Qatar on June 5, 2017. This came in a statement delivered by HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani in an Arria-formula meeting of the UN Security Council on "cyber stability, conflict prevention and capacity building", organized by Estonia, the current chair of the Council, in cooperation with Belgium, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, and Kenya.

Stability, prosperity, and the space of freedoms in the State allow those organizations to operate freely and independently, in accordance with the standards adopted by the UN, she added. Her Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar is an essential pillar of international cooperation for burden-sharing and for the UN to carry out its functions and achieve its goals, in accordance with its Charter.

This came in a speech in which HE the Ambassador, in her capacity as facilitator in partnership with the Permanent Delegate of Sweden, participated in consultations between member States on the draft political declaration to be adopted at the High-level Meeting with the participation of heads of State and government on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations next September. New York, April 25 (QNA) -The State of Qatar, on behalf of the Group of Arab States to the United Nations has affirmed the adherence of the Arab position to peace as a strategic option, calling for the settlement of the Palestinian issue on the basis of a two-state solution that leads to the establishment of a Palestinian State on the borders of July 4, 1967. It also expressed support for Palestine's full membership of the United Nations. Doha, April 25 (QNA) -The State of Qatar has renewed the call to end the unjust and unlawful blockade imposed on it, stressing the disappointment of the accounts upon which the blockading countries relied on to undermine the State of Qatar and its sovereign decision, as well as the failure of the policies that relied on the separation of brotherly peoples. It stated that these policies have affected the solidarity and regional cooperation, which has become more necessary amid the outbreak of the corona pandemic (Covid-19). This came in a statement by HE Ambassador Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al -Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, in writing to the UN Security Council, which held a virtual meeting on Thursday, on "the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue."

New York, March 11 (QNA) - The UN Security Council hailed the State of Qatar's mediation, role and auspices of the negotiations between the United States and the Afghan Taliban. During a session held on Tuesday on the Situation in Afghanistan, and after voting on a resolution adopted unanimously by the UN Security Council in which the recent agreement between the United States and the Afghan Taliban was approved, HE Acting Deputy Permanent Representative of the US Mission to the United Nations Ambassador Cherith Chalet expressed in a statement her country's gratitude to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and to the decisive support and role played by the State of Qatar in hosting US-Afghan Taliban talks, that culminated in the signing of the Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan between the two parties in Doha on Feb. 29.
