Qatar Informs UN Security Council, Secretary-General about Bahraini Aircraft Violation of Airspace

New York, February 08 (QNA) - The State of Qatar informed the United Nations (UN) Security Council and the UN Secretary-General about a violation of Qatari airspace on Thursday, 27 December 2018 by a Bahrain Air Force aircraft without the prior authorization of the competent Qatari authorities. This came in a message sent on Thursday by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani to HE UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and to HE Permanent Representative of Equatorial Guinea Ambassador Ndong Mba, who is the President of the Security Council for this month.



Qatar Renews Commitment to International Obligations to Curb Terrorism Financing

The State of Qatar has renewed its commitment to comply with international obligations to curb the financing of terrorism, and has strengthened its cooperation with international and regional partners by signing regional and bilateral agreements for cooperation and coordination, stressing its active participation in counter-terrorism arrangements.



Qatar Renews Commitment to Dialogue to Resolve Crisis Created by Blockade States

The State of Qatar reiterated its commitment to resolve the crisis that the countries of the blockade have created through dialogue that guarantees sovereignty and put an end to illegal measures. It also renewed its commitment to the mediation of HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, expressing appreciation of these efforts, and of the States that supported it, in order to resolve the crisis. The State of Qatar has also affirmed its clear approach to dealing with the crisis wisely from its inception, in accordance with international law and international mechanisms for conflict resolution.


Qatar Reiterates Support for International Efforts to Achieve Peace in Middle East and Resolve Palestinian Cause

The State of Qatar reiterated its support for international efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East and resolve the Palestinian cause on the basis of agreed references, resolutions of international legitimacy, the Arab peace initiative and the solution of two States, Israel and Palestine, on the basis of the 1967 borders. It called for an end to the Israeli occupation of the occupied Arab territories, including the Syrian Golan, stressing the need to ensure the rights of the Palestinian people and a just solution to the refugee problem in accordance with General Assembly Resolution 194.
