New York, April 17 (QNA) - The State of Qatar affirmed its moral and humanitarian commitment to ensure fair production and supply of COVID-19 vaccines all over the world, warning that the big gap in vaccine availability could derail the efforts made to achieve the sustainable development goals by 2030. New York, April 14 (QNA) - The State of Qatar affirmed the urgent need for the international community to pay more attention to enhancing the participation of women in peace processes and negotiations, expressing its belief that the essential step for preventing sexual violence in conflicts lies in taking proactive measures in order to empower women in all stages, whether before or after the outbreak of conflicts, including ensuring their full and active participation in political, economic and social life. New York, April 09 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea signed a joint statement to establish diplomatic relations. The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the permanent delegation of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York. New York, April 01 (QNA) - The President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly Volkan Bozkir held an informal meeting at the request of Qatar, Lebanon, Brazil, Denmark, Fiji, India, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Norway, South Korea, Saint Vincent, the Grenadines, Senegal, Sweden and the United Kingdom, which are the countries that prepared the "Political Declaration on Equitable Global Access to Covid-19 Vaccines", in order to announce the launch of the Joint Political Declaration that 181 countries joined until the date of the session.

New York, March 18 (QNA) - The permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York, in cooperation with India, Japan, Sweden, Tanzania and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ECWA), organized a high-level event on the sidelines of the 65th session of the UN's Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), on promoting women's political participation to achieve goals of sustainable development and improved redevelopment. The high-level event focused on discussing and addressing strategies and interventions to accelerate the adoption of laws and practices, to improve conditions for women's participation in public life across the region. During the event, the effects of inequality in the representation of women in public life at the socio-economic level in its broader context on women and girls were highlighted, and the participation of women in political life in the Arab region was reviewed.

New York, March 16 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have signed an agreement to establish an office for the program in the State of Qatar. HE the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations in New York Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani signed the agreement on behalf of the State of Qatar, while UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner signed the agreement on the UNDP's behalf.
