HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said that the latest developments in Syria, particularly the escalation of violence against civilians and the possibility of attacks using chemical weapons, requires compounding efforts to guarantee accountability for these crimes.

The State of Qatar today took over the presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) for 2019. Qatar affirmed that it will work on the objective of Asian consensus and cooperation and the development of the inter-Asian working mechanisms as a priority during its presidency of the dialogue, adding that it will encourage efforts to deepen trade and economic partnerships and promote the economic competitiveness of the countries of Asia.

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani called on the international community to reconsider the strategy for dealing with the Syrian crisis in order to find a peaceful solution that would end the human suffering of the Syrian people away from any point-scoring.

The State of Qatar expressed its appreciation to the United Nations for convening the "Nelson Mandela and Peace" Summit, praising his role as a leader and human symbol of his life, in order to uphold the human values enshrined in the human conscience.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani heads the delegation of the State of Qatar in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, which takes place at the UN's headquarters in New York in the U.S.

The State of Qatar reiterated its commitment to mediation to settle conflicts and disputes by peaceful means, affirming that its interest in mediation lies at the heart of the priority it attaches to the maintenance of peace and security and the peaceful settlement of disputes.

The State of Qatar informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General of the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) decision in favor of Qatar to take provisional measures against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the case related to discrimination against Qatari citizens.

The State of Qatar has hailed the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to approve the State of Qatar's request for interim measures against the UAE in the case of discriminatory treatment against Qatari nationals, which obliged the UAE to ensure the reunification of families separated by the measures taken by the UAE and to give Qatari students affected by these measures the opportunity to complete their studies in the UAE or obtain their educational records as well as access of Qatari nationals affected by such measures to courts and judicial bodies in the UAE.

The State of Qatar reiterated its full determination to cooperate with various United Nations bodies related to the fight against terrorism and to support the efforts of those bodies in fulfilling their mandate and their ability to assist Member States in eradicating this scourge.

The State of Qatar renewed its commitment to supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and called on member states to participate in providing support to the agency.
