New York, September 20 - HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani met today with the President of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly Peter Thompson, at the UN headquarters in New York City.

It noted that it had sought to establish national institutions with a view to spreading the culture of peace, tolerance and the fight against extremism and rejection of violence at the national, regional and international levels.

The State of Qatar has expressed deep concern over abuses suffered by children in the occupied Palestinian territories and Syria, stressing that their suffering will continue if the International Community has not been able to solve this conflict.
