The Republic of Paraguay has awarded HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani the National Order of Merit Don Jose Falcon in recognition of Qatar's contribution to Paraguay's access to COVID-19 vaccines during the worst phase of the global health crisis.
HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Paraguay Julio Cesar Arriola Ramirez presented the order to HE Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani during a ceremony at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Paraguay to the United Nations in New York.
On this occasion, HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Paraguay said that true friends are known in difficult moments, and this is what the State of Qatar has shown to the Republic of Paraguay in that difficult period.
His Excellency added that the cooperation and assistance provided by Qatar to Paraguay in very difficult times clearly demonstrate Qatar's solidarity, adding that everything done by Qatar for Paraguay will never be forgotten.
He thanked HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations for the excellence and stressed the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
