Qatar Unanimously Elected to Membership of Several UN Institutions

New York, April 20 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has been unanimously elected to the membership of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the period (2022-2024), as well as the membership of the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

The election of the State of Qatar to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Population Fund and the United Nations Office for Project Services, is an affirmation of its international status in the United Nations, its outstanding efforts and its commitment to legal frameworks and serious national policies and practices in combating crime, in addition to its role in promoting international partnership and cooperation in the field of criminal justice and the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the promotion of human rights and good governance.
