This high-level event will serve to formally launch the Global
Alliance for Reporting Progress on Promoting Peaceful, Just, and
Inclusive Societies and seeks to provide a platform for Member States, representatives
from civil society, private sector and high-level personalities to engage in
strategy and policy discussion, outline priorities, exchange knowledge and
experience, and strengthen partnerships within the international community to
promote peaceful, just, and inclusive societies.
Recognizing the need to build new forms
of partnership to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Member
States and representatives of civil society and the private sector, with
facilitation by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), have come
together to create the Global Alliance for Reporting Progress on
Promoting Peaceful, Just, and Inclusive Societies. The Global Alliance
aims to harness the strengths and resources of its diverse members in order to
support effective and meaningful reporting on the achievement of Sustainable
Development Goal 16 and its interlinkages to the entirety of the 2030 Agenda
for Sustainable Development.
Speakers include: Ministerial level
representatives from Member States, CEOs, and other high-level personalities.
