HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani met with HE Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

During the meeting, Her Excellency stressed that UNRWA plays a pivotal and indispensable role and represents the backbone of providing humanitarian assistance to the brotherly Palestinian people. In this regard, she renewed the State of Qatar's firm commitment to continue its political and financial support for the agency.

For his part, HE Commissioner-General expressed deep appreciation for the political and financial support provided by the State of Qatar to UNRWA at various levels to ensure the continuation of efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of Palestinian refugees.
