Qatar Reaffirms Commitment to Integrate People with Disabilities into Sustainable Development

New York - Information Office - December 04 The State of Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to work to integrate persons with disabilities into sustainable development, calling for best efforts to support the implementation of the United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy, in order to provide a basis for tangible progress and transformation through the participation of persons with disabilities in achieving UN's goals with peace, security, human rights and development. This came in a statement delivered by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani during her participation in an event organized by the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which falls on December 3 each year. HE UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, HE President of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly Ambassador Tijani Mohammed Pandey, and a number of Member States' permanent representatives and experts.


Qatar Reiterates Support for Efforts to Resolve Palestinian Cause

New York - Information Office - December 04 The State of Qatar reiterated its support for all sincere efforts aimed at resolving the Palestinian issue and achieving peace in the Middle East. It also affirmed its support for the annual resolutions of the General Assembly on the question of Palestine and the Middle East based on the principles of international law, the purposes enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and international norms and the need to respect the rights of all and to maintain international peace and security. UN Adopts Resolution on Objectives' Implementation of International Year of Family which Qatar Facilitates its Negotiations

New York, November 27 (QNA) - The United Nations General Assembly Third Committee adopted, by consensus, the resolution of the "20th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family and Beyond' to implement the objectives of the International Year of the Family, which Qatar facilitated negotiations about it on behalf of the Group of 77 and China in the United Nations. The Group of 77 expressed special appreciation to the State of Qatar's mission to the United Nations, which over the past years has facilitated consultations on the resolution. Qatar began to introduce the resolution since 2004, after having hosted the Doha International Conference for the Family in that year.


Qatar Reiterates Commitment to Participate in UN Security Council's Reform Negotiations

New York, November 26 (QNA) - The State of Qatar reiterated its commitment to participate actively in the negotiations on United Nations Security Council's reform, stressing the growing need for dialogue and openness to face the current and growing challenges with a Security Council representing the whole world, reflecting the current geopolitical and economic realities and keeping abreast of developments and changes witnessed by the world. Qatar Reiterates Commitment to Implement Provisions of Rights of Child's Convention

New York, November 21 (QNA) - The State of Qatar reiterated its commitment to the implementation of the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, stressing that it gives the issue of child protection, especially the right to education, the highest priority The State of Qatar noted that it collaborates with international partners to reach quality education services for 10 million children around the world through the initiatives launched by Education Above All Foundation (EAA). UN Praises Role of Human Rights Training and Documentation Center in Doha

Qatar Affirms Continued Support for Legitimate Demands of Palestinians and Arabs in Occupied Territories

New York – Information Office - November 16 The State of Qatar has affirmed that it will continue to support the legitimate demands of the Palestinian and brethren Arab in the occupied territories to enjoy all their inalienable rights. Qatar Reiterates Continued Support to UNRWA
